On November 18, the Philippines’ biggest AI community, AI Pilipinas, along with the country’s pioneering AI company, Senti AI, will be participating in the PH Startup Week 2019 where multiple government and private agencies will collaborate to bring attention to the Filipino startup community, creating a critical mass of activity around a short time period in order to attract both local and international participation.
In this activity, Senti AI will be hosting a Machine Learning Hackathon entitled “ML Hackfest 2019” where data or AI scientists, engineers, and enthusiasts can collaborate to create solutions that address a specific problem within a defined time frame.
The ML HackFest aims to encourage AI enthusiasts to test their skills, use them to improve society, experience AI/ML in the real world, and win prizes.
Philippine Startup Week 2019 is the country’s first large-scale collaborative initiative by the Department of Science and Technology, the Department of Trade and Industry, the Department of Information and Communications Technology, and various private agencies, to showcase the Filipino startup community.
PHSW19 offers a series of events across the country, each highlighting the entrepreneurial spirit and technological innovations of Philippine startups and startup enablers. With a 3-day main summit, over 40 nation-wide breakout community events, and 4 night fests, this 5-day conference features various opportunities to discover the latest advancements in tech and innovation, network with key players in the ecosystem, and to engage with the most promising startups in the country.
Senti Techlabs Inc. (also known as Senti AI) is the pioneering Artificial Intelligence company in the Philippines. The company’s focus is to continuously create algorithms that would make computers understand and adapt to the way that Filipinos think and communicate.
A group for Filipinos who are willing to upskill tech capabilities and learn Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence. These skills can either be used for research purposes and/or developing end-to-end solutions. All skill levels are welcome.

The contest has no limit in terms of age or years of experience as long as they have experience and knowledge in the field of machine learning.
Teams are composed of 2-3 members.
Teams can be composed of professionals from the industry and the academe or students.
• There are no limitations when it comes to the programming languages and framework that each team will be using.
• Using Python and R is recommended for this event as it can be easily used to generate the submission file that will be submitted for the competition board in our local Kaggle Competition.
• Participants can also use pre-trained models(ResNet,YoLo, etc) or AutoML for easier training and deployment.
• ALL TEAMS are allowed to use the internet as it is provided in the venue.
• There are no devices that can be used by the participants on the venue hence we require them to code on their own devices.
